New joiners

As we continue to build on our growth ambitions, we are delighted to welcome four new faces to Miller!

Debbie Hobbs Cyber

Debbie recently joined Miller as Head of Cyber, Technology & Media

She will concentrate on growing Miller’s cyber, tech and media book as we continue to expand our global presence.

Debbie started her career in law, before moving to Travelers in 2014 where she worked in its claims team, specialising in areas including cyber and technology. Following this, she joined the RSGU underwriting platform EmergIn Risk at its inception in 2016, proceeding to lead its London unit from 2018.

Fully conversant with MGA and volume business, Debbie has a particular focus on large complex accounts.

Andy Edwards Cargo

Andy has recently joined Miller’s North American cargo and stock throughput team.

With over 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Andy has developed a strong understanding of North American business, in particular the needs of banks and traders as well as clients requiring complex Project Cargo and Marine Delay in Start-Up solutions.

Before joining Miller in July 2021, Andy worked for two global broking firms. He is ACII qualified.

Rhys Newland Renewables

Rhys recently joined Miller as Head of Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology. This signals Miller’s commitment to the fast-moving renewable energy sector as we continue to make high profile appointments across its key specialist areas.

He brings over 25 years of environmental risk experience, including expertise across PFI/PPP and nationally significant infrastructure projects. Rhys joins Miller from Willis Limited where, most recently, he held the position of Head of Infrastructure, specializing in environmental infrastructure. Prior to joining Willis in 1998, he worked as an environmental consultant where he undertook work for major projects including the World Bank and EBRD.

Rhys has a BSc in Environmental Science from Lancaster University and is a Chartered Environmentalist.

Seema Pandey Marine

Seema recently joined Miller’s Marine team as Marine New Business Lead.

After getting her Masters in Insurance and Risk Management from CASS business school, Seema joined a reinsurance broker and worked there for 18 months before entering the Marine market, which was over 16 years ago now. During this time she has developed and managed a book of business with global exposure and headed a marine team. Seema has worked in many different areas including Europe, Asia, Middle East and Central/South America.

She is looking forward to developing new clients and working together across the various teams at Miller to maximise service and responsiveness for our clients.
